MLP For New Gas Engineers

The Managed Learning Programme is a mandatory external course. All candidates must attend a full 5-day centre training, followed by structured modules of 2 or 3 days.

These will be scheduled several times every few months allowing candidates flexibility when attending, and the total time expected for all centre training will be between 25-30 days depending on prior experience.

The time between attending training modules will be spent on-site building a portfolio of works, this will be supervised by your Mentor or another Gas Safe wp-signup.phped Engineer who will sign off your task-books and supply evidence that you have completed them successfully.

Electrical Qualification

External Training delivered in Cannock

A two-day course which covers safe isolation, testing and measuring, circuit protection, fundamentals of electricity, circuit layouts and how to perform tasks safely and competently using a range of test equipment.

On completing the course and all of its assessments candidates will achieve a City & Guilds accredited certificate.

Structured Mentor Programme

Each Trainee will be assigned a dedicated, experienced Engineering Mentor to support and guide them through their 2-year programme with AGGORA.

You’ll have structured regular meetings with your Mentor to review your progress with the Taskbooks and your career aspirations for the future. Your Mentor will be the main point of contact for signing off your professional portfolio and Academy taskbooks.

The purpose of mentoring within the trainee academy is to:

  • Support the development of trainee engineers completing their taskbooks and qualifications within the academy
  • Create a reflective environment for the trainee to address issues of career, personal growth, communication, and technical skills.
  • Assist the trainee’s in understanding the values and behaviour expected of them by the organisation.
  • Enable the trainee to explore their capabilities and career aspirations outside of the pressures of their own team/day-to-day
